The entire yacht should be built as closely as possible in compliance with “The Plan”, detailed in both documents above.
Length of the hull measured at the longest point must not exceed 650mm including the “bumper” which must be made of foam, rubber, silicone or some other flexible material.
The width of the hull at the maximum point must be between 165mm and 175mm.
The hull must be built of wood but epoxy or polyester resin may be used in combination with glass cloth or bandage to reinforce the seams and other points indicated on “The Plan”. Masts can be made from wood* aluminium / other alloys or carbon fibre but must be between 6mm and 8mm in diameter.
Mast height as measured from the top of the deck to the top of the mast and its fittings (crane) must not exceed 1050mm.
The dimensions of the crane must be the same as those shown on “The Plan”.
Sails can be constructed from any type of material and can be panelled or flat.
The maximum sail sizes that can be deployed are those shown on “The Plan”. A master will be available to permit sails to be measured. These sails must comply with these measurements with an allowance of +2mm in any direction. Smaller sails can be fitted at any time at the skippers discretion to permit successful sailing in stronger winds.
The maximum total boom length when installed on the yacht in “ready to sail” condition and when measured in a straight line must not exceed 520mm. (This will generally mean making booms exactly to the sizes shown on “The Plan”.
Keels can be made from wood, aluminium or some other alloy. If wood is used then epoxy or polyester resins may be used to laminate pieces of wood to generate strength.
Keels manufactured solely from carbon fibre or any other combination of resin/cloth are prohibited.
The maximum distance measured from the bottom of the hull to the bottom of the keel bulb must not exceed 245mm.
Rudders can be made from the same combination of materials as the keel with the same exclusions.
All deck fittings can be made, installed and used at the skippers discretion.
